Before starting any home search you should get Pre-approved. This will help give you a ballpark price range of what you will be able to afford. Most importantly you should come up with a number you feel comfortable with paying each month. Checklist for your Loan Pre-approval.
Start your Home Search
Number 1 rule in a home search is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. I recommend going and hanging out in that location for couple of hours. Explore and observe what you like and what you don’t. After you find a location you would like to be in then you will want put together a wish list of amenities together. Then get out there and look. Keep an open mind and never settle. Making an Offer
We are currently in a buyer’s market and this makes this process a lot simpler because you are not competing against multiple offers. Unless it is a screaming deal of course. The important piece here is finding a place to start. My rule of thumb is to drop the anchor low and meet in the middle.
Get a Home Inspection
Having a trust worthy home inspector is vital. This could prevent you from getting into a home that will cost thousands to repair in the future. If something does come up you can always ask the seller to repair or just walk and find another home.
